Lot 16 Original Vanity Fair Caricature Prints 1869-1913 Picture(s) and Description:

Genuine Diamond Guaranteed Lot Of Sixteen Original Antique Vanity Fair Lithographs 1869-1913 Victorian & Edwardian Caricatures Approximate Sizes- 10 1/2" x 15" e Vanity Fair was a society paper published in England from 1869 to 1914, and is unrelated to the later American magazine of the same name. It featured articles about the royal family, fashions of the day, and the weekly news, but the highlight of each issue was a color caricature of a well-known person. This is an unusual opportunity to purchase a lot of 16 of these original antique chromo-lithographs at an incredible price. Note that the Sir Robert Ball print alone typically retails for $48, and this copy is in Very Fine condition. This lot includes several famous personalities from the period such as scientist Sir Robert Ball (below), and British Statesman and Quaker John Bright, several ambassadors, and two red-robed Judges from a special hand-colored limited edition. The condition of these prints ranges from Good to Very Fine, and most are suitable for framing. Three are matted and two come with copies of the page of biographical information from the magazine plus certificates of authenticity from the Original Vanity Fair Print Company, formerly of Cincinnati Ohio. These two prints are from the large cache of Vanity Fair lithographs that were brought to the United states from England at the outset of WWII by American medical student Paul Victorious. All 16 prints in this lot are guaranteed to be original Vanity fair lithographs printed in England before 1913.
